Overcladding

This popular method of renovating existing buildings can provide dramatic improvements to both appearance and performance of the external cladding, for a relatively low cost compared to stripping and re-sheeting.

A variety of methods are adopted to construct a new lightweight framework, which is secured through the existing cladding into structure beyond. This framework then acts as fixing points for the new cladding, which is commonly specified as plastisol coated profiled steel sheet in any one of fifteen standard colours.

Perimeter flashing trims are utilised to form weather tight details at all edges and junctions. These flashings are manufactured to from the same material as the cladding sheets to achieve an exact colour match, or if preferred an eye catching contrast.
